Experience zero gravity at KL Tower

KUALA LUMPUR: It's the hottest ride in town. You can now get the chance to experience what an astronaut feels when he is shot into space; with KL Tower's newest attraction, the "G Force X."

For RM60, you can try the "reverse bungy" where you will be strapped into a capsule attached to cables and then catapulted into the sky.

"It's like being in a rocket and blasted into outer space. It is definitely one of the best anti-gravity machines on the planet," AJ Hackett Malaysia managing director Adam Quinn said.

AJ Hackett is renowned for operating bungy jumps and other related facilities around the world. The G Force X is the highest reverse bungy facility in Asia. When the capsule is shot into the air, it travels up to 120kph in two seconds and a person can experience five times the force of gravity. At the top, he will get a feeling of weightlessness for a short while, similar to what astronauts feel.

Menara Kuala Lumpur chairman Tan Sri Md Radzi Mansor, who launched the tower's newest attraction yesterday, said it was an adrenaline-pumping experience after trying it himself. Md Radzi said the G Force X was the first of several attractions for KL Tower.

In the works are the flying fox, Mast Climb (where a person climbs up to the antenna at the top of the tower), Skywalk X (where a person walks around the tower on an outside platform while strapped to a harness) and finally, the Sky Jump. The Sky Jump, expected to open in August, is a freefall, similar to a bungy jump, from the tower. KL Tower's Sky Jump at 421m will be the highest in the world, 188m higher that the current record holder - Macau Tower.

The G Force X is open every day, from 11am to 7pm on weekdays, and from 10am to 8pm on weekends.
