Air Pollution is bad for marathon...

Runner dies after Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon

HONG KONG: A runner who collapsed during the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon on Sunday, 12 February, died in hospital yesterday while another competitor remained in critical condition, a health official said.

Tsang Kam-yin, 53, reportedly had asthma and was among the 22 runners who received hospital treatment. He died early yesterday morning, and no more details about him were disclosed.

William Ko, chairman of event organiser the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association, had dismissed concerns there were insufficient doctors and first aid staff to help a record 4,800 injured runners in Sunday's race.

He also defended the decision to stage the race amid the worst air pollution in Hong Kong since September 2005.

Hoping that the coming KL Marathon will be blessed with good weather condition and I'm blessed with good health and good spirit and good strength and my legs don't go cranky or upset.
